Community care

Community care clients often have complex multiple needs and corresponding complex legal problems.

One of Law For All’s clients suffers from severe ME and is extremely isolated. We have helped him, amongst other things, to achieve the following:

  • A review of his care needs and the appointment of a new social worker.

  • The approval of funding from the Primary Care Trust for hospital therapy.

  • An agreement by the local authority to re-house him in more suitable accommodation.

We are continuing to work with him on his appeal against the refusal of Disability Living Allowance and his attempt to obtain medical assistance from a specialist hospital and are asking for the local authority’s occupational therapists to take urgent action.

The client’s overall welfare and outlook have improved considerably during our involvement.
