Dismissed whilst pregnant

One of our clients had been dismissed while pregnant but without a full year’s service.

The employers had told her she was redundant but we strongly suspected that her pregnancy was the real reason for the dismissal, and started a tribunal claim alleging that this was the case.  At first, the employers defended the claim but within 2 days of them instructing solicitors, a settlement of £11,000 was reached.
