Refused asylum

An asylum seeker from the Congo had her application refused because the Home Office did not believe her account of the events before her arrival in the UK.

With the help of additional funding from the Legal Services Commission for expert reports, Law For All were successful in appealing the refusal. Two experts confirmed that the woman was, without doubt, Congolese and had experienced the traumatic events she described. Without access to the experts she would have been refused asylum and been returned to a dangerous situation.
