Law For All at Citizens Advice Bureaux (LFA @ CAB)
Law For All has worked since 2007 with a number of Citizens’ Advice
Bureaux, developing a model of service delivery designed to increase
access for clients and the economic efficiency of specialist advice
provision. The service delivery model is based on two already
existing systems; the Citizens Advice Service Generalist Advice Model,
and Law For All’s system for delivering specialist work. We call
this system LFA @ CAB.
The LFA @ CAB system:
The two systems (CAB and LFA) have been successfully employed to provide
a coherent, all level service for clients in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire,
parts of Suffolk and Norfolk and Northamptonshire and from early 2009
the system has been expanded to include Staffordshire.
Law For All lawyers work on the premises of the CAB providing specialist
services to clients who have been through the Gateway Assessment
Interview process. The Law For All lawyers also provide second tier
support for their CAB colleagues dealing with clients who are not
eligible for LSC support.
The client information systems have been harmonised so that the client
does not have to repeat information already provided. This makes for
good client care and efficient use of resources.
Both the CAB staff and the Law For All lawyers enjoy this way of working
and most importantly clients benefit from a smooth integrated service.
The system can best be illustrated by the attached
