Clifford Chance
Clifford Chance has been an active supporter of Law For All since our inception. Their support was initially financial but has developed over the years and now constitutes a substantial package covering 3 areas:
- the secondment of trainees, currently four at a time on a 3-month rotation;
- direct pro bono casework by referral from us;
- business support for Law For All in areas such as property, trusts and employment.
We are particularly grateful for the pro bono assistance of Clifford Chance as they have been not only generous to a fault but also willing to work with us to develop pro bono service delivery models that ensure high quality work and excellent client care. We are both concerned that all time given pro bono should be used as effectively as possible, to maximize its impact, but also that the quality of service provided must be paramount, as time spent in poor quality work runs the risk of being damaging rather than helpful.

Barristers’ Chambers
Throughout our existence, Law For All has been greatly supported by a number of barristers’ chambers who provide representation, free of charge, to our clients at tribunals and other hearings when legal aid is not available.
Social Welfare Law Coalition
Law For All is one of the founder members of the Social Welfare Law Coalition (SWeLC). Ulla Barlow is the Coordinator of SWeLC and Anna Barlow is one of its trustees.
The main aim of SWeLC is to ensure the future of high-quality publicly-funded social welfare law services provided by lawyers. The Coalition believes that examples of sustainable excellence in service provision should inform future decisions. It brings together people with experience of running successful legal services and others whose experience in for example finance and business can help it reach its goals.
Through SWeLC, Law For All cooperates with other successful providers of social welfare law services to share best practice and explore ways of improving services.
Cambridge Citizens Advice Bureau
Since April 2007, Law For All has been providing specialist level legal services at Cambridge CAB through a unique partnership. Our lawyers are present at the bureau three and a half days a week, taking referrals from the CAB’s own diagnostics service. We also provide advice to the CAB advisers on cases they are handling. The partnership enables clients to have easy access to Law For All services and also frees up the time of CAB staff to deal with a greater proportion of their enquirers than would otherwise be the case.

Other advice partners
Law For All provides advice and casework from the premises of many other community organisations. All of these are our valued partners and we work together to serve their particular local communities. Being able to use local premises means two very important things for our clients:
- firstly, it is less intimidating to make first contact with us as clients are on familiar territory;
- secondly, the often impossible task of travelling to see the lawyer is removed.
We would like to express our thanks and admiration to:
